Culture during the golden age

The golden age is a time period in which the Dutch country flourished. The cultural development in the low Countries stood out from many of the neighbouring countries. The Dutch had a couple of cultural activities that were available for the residents. The town militia that the Dutch called a “Schutterij” was used for town defence but was also served as meeting place for much of the Dutch people who had acquired a higher status.
